ART HIST 3S03

Hello everyone,

My apologies for today's lecture cancellation. Please be aware that we will be having class as usual tomorrow. During tomorrow's session I will go over some further details regarding next week's test. If you have any questions regarding the test please be prepared to ask them when we meet.

I would also like to add that there will be NO CLASS this Friday (Feb. 1) as I will be away at that time. Again, my apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

ART HIST 4C03: Assignment Observations

Please note the following with respect to your assignment project. If you plan to introduce newer materials and / or techniques you may do so but be aware you MUST take this into consideration as you gather your thoughts for your presentation and report. You'll need to look at these matters critically. Why use the materials and techniques that you have chosen? What are your reasons? Is it a matter of convenience or familiarity? How do they differ from the materials and techniques that would have been used in the middle ages? Be critical of your own process and use it as a means of coming to some better understanding of the techniques / materials that would have been used to address the subject matter in its time.

Be careful not to cut corners just for the sake of project management.

ART HIST 3S03: Test Information

A reminder that the test for ART HIST 3S03 is scheduled for Tuesday February 5 (in class). The test will be 30 minutes in length and will require you to respond to two questions, each pertaining to a corresponding image (presented on screen during the test). The images will be shown on screen for 15 minutes each permitting you to answer each corresponding question within the same amount of time.

The questions will require you to demonstrate your understanding of some of the key concepts we have been discussing in lecture (some of which are also addressed in the assigned readings), as they apply to the images presented. This coming week we will have a mini review in class and any further questions you might have about the format can be addressed at that time. The test will have a maximum value of 50 marks (25 marks per question).

ART HIST 2A03 / CMST 2I03: Visual Literacy

Hello everyone,

Just a reminder that the test is scheduled for Monday February 11 (in class). The test will be 30 minutes in length and will require you to respond to a single question pertaining to a single image (which will be presented on screen during the test).

The question will require you to demonstrate your understanding of some of the key concepts we have been discussing in lecture (some of which are also addressed in the assigned readings), as they apply to the image presented. A week prior to the test we will have a mini review in class and any further questions you might have about the format can be addressed at that time. The test will have a maximum value of 50 marks.

ALSO - Please remember Tutorial #1 will be meeting on Tuesday morning (January 29) this week. Tutorial # 2 will convene once again on Wednesday  February 6.
