An Associated Press report (

According to the report the Culture Ministry has determined that the famous High Renaissance sculpture belongs to the central government in Rome even though ownership of the work was ceded to Florence by a state decree in 1870 or 1871 at the time when Rome became the capital of the newly-formed Italian nation.
