During our last class I was asked if it was possible to give a sample question in anticipation of the exam. Parts 1 and 2 are the same in format (30 minutes each) though they will each deal with different periods and styles (as indicated in my previous 'exam' post). The following is an example of a question that might fit into the format for Parts 1 and 2:
Q: What defines a work as 'Rococo'? Use at least one example of work from the lectures or readings to illustrate your comments.
Part 3 is broader in scope by virtue of the fact that it will involve comparison and contrast. So... you can expect a question treating an issue relevant to modern (19th-20th century) art but one that will require explanation by recourse to comparative examples from the modern age and (if you choose) earlier periods.
